Ya, the females don't develop body color other than sort of drab greyish-brown and black stripes, maybe light blue or orange just spotting the very top of dorsal fin. They stay in that coloration. As mentioned, the males will start showing some blue, maybe a pale orange, at 3 or 4 months. I had a nice run of breeding with mine until my big ol' male died a mystery death. Hmm, in 3 years he never developed any kind of nuchal hump; neither did my Taiwan Reef Peacocks.
