How do you sex Angelfish? I was just wondering.

To really truely tell the sex of your angel fish you need to look at them while they breed.
I only know that the males tubes is slightly pointed and the females tube is roundish. But I forget what the tubes are called. But I'm just saying what I've heard, so I could be wrong...

I've noticed that the egg tube on my female angel fish is always out just a little bit, and the males is not. But that is just because she is old enough to breed, and has eggs inside her... I think.

The tubes are called ovipositors. Well explained however.:iagree:

What happens if they don't breed I have never seen them spawn. My angels never even paired:(

It takes patience. Your angels will eventually spawn. Sometimes two females even pair up but the eggs will remain infertile unless a male fertilizes them with his milt.

Agree with everyone (: If they dont pair off and are adults, chances are they are the same sex. You could always add some more angels and see the result. As for the egg tubes, its a faulty way for telling. I have a pair of blue blushing angels and both have the same look to their tubes.
