Sexing bichir, possible?

Around 4" it becomes possible to sex, but I wait until around 6"-8" to be sure. Your really just looking to see if it's a male or not, because they all look like females until they turn either male or stay female. So if it hasn't gotten a fleshy analysts fin around 6"-8" I say it's a female. I've had males turn at all different sizes ranging from 4"-8" so I think that's the range.
Ok cool. I'll get a better look at my Senegal when I'm back from work since it's in the size range to sexed. My delhezi however I think us way younger than I thought. Swear I saw gill frills when there super little .
Does this apply to all bichirs?.

Yes, from the description you have given you most likely have a male and a female. The female should be a female, because if it is around 9 inches then it has had enough time to develop it's anal fin if it was a male.
My dels had the gill frills 2 months ago at 9", i thought something was wrong. Was only a few days.
I've never seen this before but they are eating fine and fat.

He's not to small I fed my 2" endli massivore .... He grow super quick .... Just break the massivore in 3-4 pieces so he can eat them
