Hi
I've got 2 black arrow about 14 inces each i recently put them in their own 120
( i know i know i'm planning on a custum acrylic job eventually)
Is there a reliable way of sexing then?
appologies in advance if this has been posted before

Same with silvers, even with a trained eye for the differences, the traits are not exclusive. Trained eyes can make educated guesses, but there is no way to be 100% certain until one lays eggs, and the other scoops them up.

YEP :iagree:

Males will generally have a deeper/larger jaw, longer anal fin, and will grow a little larger. Females are more robust and have a shallower jaw line. However these traits can be present in the opposite sex.

lol i wish
that would be awesum
however "many a slip twixt the cup and the lip"
also something about counting your arowana before the eggs are ever laid
i know with angelfish the best way to get a pair is have six and wait fora pair to form
this is definitely a long term project these look so young and skinny compared to the silvers

and right now money's an issue

maybe it's a good thing no asians arrownas allowed in us, i'd probly take out a second mortgage then

anyway
this should probly go in dys
a friend can make an8x4x2 acrylic for me, i'd prefer that to a round pond not only to see them but to fit in the house better
if i went bigger no way to get it in the door i guess huh? any ideas? huh ?huh?

thanks guys i'll keep ya posted
