I have a group of 6 in my 150 gallon tank and I'm trying to see if I have a good blend of males and females. All are around 2" long right now. Are there any good ways of telling if they are male or female? Do the trailers on their tails play into this?

My male tends to have longer trailers on his tail and he's a bit more colorful in general. This all goes out the window when actual spawning starts, because the female colors up and looks just as great as he does. The only way I can tell my male apart are the fin trailers and he's slightly larger than both females. I guess as they get bigger, the size difference gap could close and they'd be even trickier. It's not quite as easy as with M. ramirezi.

Yeah I guess I will just have to snap some pics and ask for help.
