From what I have read so far doing basic searches, all I can find is that the males have more bristles, and forks on their faces than females...giving them an "Uglier" appearance.

Is there anything else that may help me determine sex with more certainty.

I don't think they're ugly and I think mine is female. Would love to get her a mate for my 90 gallon

Thanks in advance!

I wil get pics for you if you prefer

If you want us to do it, fine get some pics up. What size are they?
In general males have bristles, females do not. Some species the female does, but the bristles tend to be smaller, and also around the edge or "lip" of the pleco head. In some species there are things like colouration, max. size etc. that can also help determine sex, but with Ancistrus, bristles are a pretty good way to go.

Thank you davo

Actually I took another look at him/her and I think the bristles are starting to fork so I'm gona give it a little more time. I think the bristles are branching out on its nose, but need more time to be sure. I will post pics soon.

Happy Holidays
