I recently picked up a (male) trimac from a very trusted lfs. As the fish were quite small 2.5" give or take the guy did his best finding me a male and female trying for a pair. The male has taken over the entire 150g aggressive little guy keeping the female in the corner up by the filter intake. good color long fin trailer on top no trailer on bottom. As stated I trust the guy that picked him out but being so small I know it can be tough. Anyways yesterday I noticed a tiny pin like projection sticking pretty much straight down in front of the anal fin. I've seen an ovipositor on my female red devil when laying eggs (4-5") before and it was quite large. This thing is tiny but then it is a smaller fish. Will post pics whenever I can. Just hoping someone out there has seen something similar and can give me an idea what im dealing with.
