I've read that the difference is in size and body shape, with males being higher-bodied. Any truth to this? I got a couple of these guys a while back, and they're now 6-7". Two pics of each, and they appear to be males, but I'd like the opinion of someone who knows better than I do. If anything can chime in, I'd be most appreciative, so thanks in advance. And yes, I know I have to trim the Anubia :p

As far as I know they are only sexable based on adult size. I'd say wait a few months and see if there is a noticeable size difference.

Don't be so paranoid, most people dont know what Anubia is, and even more couldn't detect that it needs to be trimmed as you claimed.

I don't know the answer to your question, but as a fellow Caquetaia owner I must say your fish rock, love the pictures. Looking forward to updates.

Your best bet is to take them out of the water and vent them. Old mature myersi males are larger with longer dorsal and anal fins.
If you look at post #120 in the Anything Caquetaia thread, you will see some photos of myersi I've kept. Unless they are fully mature you can't see a difference.
