Sexing dempsey

Hello mfk!!!

This is my first post hopefully this is in the correct forum. I need help sexing my Dempsey I thought it was a male because of it's aggression but now I'm starting to think it's a female here's a pic of it's gill plate. Any help is much appreciated thanks!!!

Could you post a full body shot. Maybe something we can judge scale from ?

Looks female but the last picture it looks male. I would guess male.

Third the female. agrression is not an indicator of sex. only in breeding but not for single specimens in a community tank.

Based on the slightly rounder body and the amount of color on the gill plate under the eye and on the jaw, I would say it is a female.
