Definitly looks like a female to me. By the time they are six inches or so long, male dovies start to develop spots, and turn a really nice blue around the edge of their body, often going to purple in the centre depending on the fishes mood. Males also begin to develop the hump. Females on the other hand show more of the olive and green, with none of the spotting. They also (usually) pair up very readily. I once had a male that was around eighteen inches in length, paired off with a seven inch female, and he never once injured her.
