For starters, those are Geophagus altifrons variants.

Are you really sure. They were sold as surinamensis. :irked:

The fish you see back there is not a Satanoperca, but a young Geophagus steindachneri, born here at home. Ets very fat because eats more that one adult, and them stay that way when I eat them.

Absolutely. There are thousands (millions?) of fish sold worldwide as Geophagus surinamensis, yet the true surinamensis are a phantom in the hobby.

Actually looks like 2 different altifrons variants as well. Fish pictured in the first and third photograph with the small lateral spot is likely a Geophagus altifrons "Tocantins", and the fish pictured in photographs 2 and 4 I'm not sure, but the lack of lateral spot indicates it's an altifrons variant of some description, unless the photos are being deceiving and a spot exists but isn't showing a blank/blurred patch where it should be located.

Edit: Just like to add that there's many people who prefer to use the "light" version of MFK, so changing your text to white makes it close to invisible.

Thanks again Japes,

I've been investigating this subject of G. Surinamensis. ;)

Now I have to identify these gentlemen:

They are the same and are in the same order. All have small lateral spots, but less visible in two of them and only on one side.

I think they are really three males.

I have the tank is full of altifrons

I already have these Tapajos:
