Can anyone please sex my green sevs? We were told that we had a male and female, but they seem to fight a lot. The female (so we were told) picks on the male more. Here are pics. Hope they are ok. The first pic is the one we were told was female, and the second is the male. Thanks in advance.

The one in the first picture has a solid blue face, and the one in the second picture has red squiggles/lines on the face. Is it normal for the female to be more violent towards the male? And will they ever mellow out and get along?

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone...

The female may be attacking the male because she is ready to spawn while on the other hand the male isn't ready. If they aren't paired, it may be a dominance issue or fighting for territory.
It depends on the individual personality of the fish if they get along or not but I read that severums are on the peaceful side. More aggression towards the same species.

How big a tank are they in? I had a similar pair except the male was the aggressor. Once I moved them to a bigger tank, they got along fine, although they never showed any signs of spawning.

I had them in my 150, and they were picking on my uarus. I moved them to a 55 by themselves and the female was picking on the male more, so I divided the tank in half so that I would still have 2 alive fish. I was afraid that the one would kill the other.
