I am here! lol Ok the texas is definately a male and if anyone disagrees with me look at the dorsal, no spot and the speckaling is tightly packed as a females would be a little more spaced. The fins are spike shaped but this way of sexing is not very reliable but it is infact a male. The Vieja looks to me as a Female. I am about 65% sure it's a female. Fin shape is completely irrelavent with Vieja sp. as well as Parachromis. What makes me believe it is a female is the body shape. Males will have deeper bodies even at young ages. The head shape as well males will have a sort of crease or ever so slight bump on their head even at young ages as well. Though I am not certain so don't take my complete word on this but just take into account the body features. Vieja syns. are great fish when adults. Especially males. If you get a chance look at GreenTerra's Syn. It is the best specimen I have EVER seen in my time. If you get that Zaliosus like you mentioned in the other thread buy from Rapps and get another Syn. because he's got some AWESOME shine spots on hand. Oh man I can just imagine a Syn. shine spot mating with that Texas man that would be one honorable fish!
