I have a ray which I thought was a male but starting to wonder. I know the males have these extra fin to grasp on, but does the male have clasp and fins? Or better yet does the females have these back fins also. They looks as if they can walk with those small back fins. Plus I thought the clasp hang from behind the ray, pass the back fins?

male and females have the back 2 fins to help in swimming. the male (depending on how big) will have 2 little nubs called clasers right by the fins... or if he is a bigger male, then you can see them mor easily... post a pic of the rays back bottom side and let us take a look if you still not sure

okay any pro and cons to owning a female vs male, ie; males having more color, less aggressive, keeping more than one together or another type etc, always had males, but okay, she is a beautiful fish. Considered getting rid of her, family loves her.

For further reference this is what claspers will look like

This is about a seven month old ray they will most likely grow larger as he matures

Very nice Henlei by the way :headbang2

yeah, I thought I had seen that on a motoro I had in the past, that's what made me ask the question about the male vs female. thanks. By the way how big does a female grow vs the male

Females do tend to grow bigger on average. Hard to put numbers on it though, there are lots of factors that affect growth. You could always give her to me ;)
