I have two jaguar cichlids, one about 4" and one about 6". I was wondering, what is the size that you can begin to sex them? What characteristics should I look for? I've read that the females are rounder, and less colored below the lateral line, is there anything else? Also, I've noticed that some Managuense cichlids have dark banding along the lateral line, and some have no banding, just those lovely leopard-spots. Is that significant in any way? Both of my fish have the dark banding.... The first picture is of my 6" Jag, the second is of the 4" Jag. And yes, the 6" does not have an eye. He would not show me his good side, haha. I bought him from the store with one eye, it seems to be a birth defect... accordingly he/she is named Cyclops
