I just got 7 jaguar cichlids from different breeders and as soon as I put them in my 125 I could see a different between some. They are only about 1-2 inches long but some are this brown gold color while others are a really blue black color. And the brown ones seem to follow the blue dark colored ones, are they pairing off or I'm I just crazy? Are the brown ones female? How long does it take for jaguars to pair off? Here are some pictures

Basicaly, the dark color one are stressed, the one that has bright color is the boss alpha one. They are not sex ready until 3+ inches (3 inches mostly for a female). Also, when they are pair up the rest of weaker jag already got killed by the alpha one, it's might even kill the female too.
About the blue one: If you got your fish from a good source then you might have a good gene of a honduras jag, I might monitor those blue one if they development blue color on their tail and fin then I would keep them and get rip other bad looking one.

no way to know for sure at that age, being that small tho the males will out grow the females. while not a def ancwer even then, can help you get a jump on what are possible males. expect a few to get hurrased(sp) to death.

I am hoping to get a pair and then sell the rest before that happens

Hey dude I am no expert but I think that their geneline is from different places like Columbian jaguars and Rio negro jaguars
Basically each region has its Perri year impact on the species that reside there

Jags are native to CA, not a SA fish.

Unless your talking about the cat.

Pls help me
