One of the ways to separate hartwegii from the other Vieja, is that hartwegii has a slight overbite.
This appears to be the case in your photos, but hard to tell.
But I'm gonna guess no one has tried to render a guess so far on gender, is that it is very difficult to distinguish gender even on a full grown adult Vieja, much less the daunting task of trying on a sub adult.
It has a gently sloped forehead which is often a female trait, and mature males have a stronger more bulbous profile, but you have it in a tank with an established male Zonatus, which would make any new male added, hesitant to show any alpha traits, fearing death, as a subordinate.
