Sexing juvi Dovii cichlids

I have 6 juvenile Dovii cichlids arriving next week and was just wondering if anyone knows sexing methods for them @ 3-3.5"? I hope to get a pair out of the 6.

you have to wait till they get bigger before you can sex but if you post pics we can give you some good ideas

Dovii are usually pretty easy to sex. I have had a 4" female spawn so they'll probably be sexable. Females are smaller and don't have much of a nuchal hump and males are larger and have more blue on their fins.

You should wait until they pair off on their own though, instead of just throwing a male in with a female. There is usually alot of conspecific aggression with dovii though, so you'll have to watch out for that.

You can sort of sex Dovii's at 3-4". But once they hit 5-6", its real easy.

I got them yesterday after work. They made the trip for a joke with no marks on them or split fins

I got this dovii 3 weeks ago. Its 3 inches long or just under 3 inches. Is it male or female ?
