well you would have to vent, you will need a Jeweler's loop at that size, and I doubt you can tell for sure. I would recommend researching venting. Best and most sure way to tell.

Yep venting is the true way to sex a cichlid..

The diagram below is of the cichlid genital area..

Male vent is - oo
Female vent is - o0

Yep absolutly correct.

Although we had a nice 6" pair of wild livingstoni in and they were nearly green! Although that was down to collection point but they were stunners.
