I am 99.9% sure the one is a male. I really have no question that it is but still not a bad thing to ask. When I got them, they were the same size, the one I believe is a male has gotten quite a bit larger than the other one, even well eating the same amounts.

the one I believe to be a male: (he's developing a lot of blue color and will chase my other one, but when he does chase the other he gets very, very dark almost black completely. i've read they do that when they want to mate or is it just him being a convict and being an ass)

the one that I am really questioning is this one. Sometimes I feel like I see a little orange on it's side, but it's not very obvious. This one has, in the last few days, developed kind of a 'belly' i guess I would say. I apologize some of the photos are blurry but this one tends to hide away more so getting it to hold still and come out is a little hard. I ended up catching it in the net so I could hold it still and get some photos that weren't blurry.

Thanks guys. I kind of figured that the second was a female but her orange coloring isn't as prominent as I've seen on other convict females. So it made me question it

When They Get Really Orange It Means Shes Full Of Eggs

Not really I have a female who only has tiny bit of orange that stays the same when breeding the only thing that changes when breeding is her face will blacken and stripes also darken.. and even some males can have orange bellys not much but it does happen...to the op yea u have a male and female also there just plain black convicts

Oh forgot ur females really beautiful do u have high PH in ur tank? Higher. Ph with cons tend to be much more colorful like ur female and the males will get a lot of blue on dorsal fins
