i recently bought three rbp that about 1.5 inch long. is there anyway or age that you can determine the sex?

Indeed Piranha-Fury.com will be a lot more helpful with this.
However i am 99.9% sure that they will not be able to help you sex them either at such a young age and size.

Indeed, pirana are sexually dimorphic, meaning that there are no visual ques to determine sex. Some people (icthyologists) can probe a fishes vent to identify sex

I think you mean monomorphic. The rest of the statement is true.

Having said that, a ripe female will be huge with eggs, and I have observed males biting at the female's belly. Some say the males are trying to gut her and eat the eggs, others say it is pre-spawning behaviour. Either are convincing arguements when you witness it yourself. Violence is an artform with these fish.:WHOA:

what was that for? this thread is like almost 3months old lol...

jus to help a lil anyway to make my post worth it, females are usually "larger" or more "plump" then the males. and breeding pairs usually darken up and turn almost black when there about to breed. but i think these lil 2" piranhas are over a year away from being ready for that.
