Im not sure if tin foil barbs are a monster fish but I thought I would ask you guys anyway. If you have any info on how to sex them and if they have any special needs or diet. thanks alot

Sexually mature tinfoils in good condition are easy to sex visually since females are much larger, plumper and "beefy". Assuming they are all same age of course. If you post or email some photos I can help. Another much more reliable way is to net them out and slightly squeeze them from pectoral fins down towards anal fin in a slow smooth motion. Males will readily express white milt (sperm). Those which dont may not always be females but those which do are definitely male.
Regards diet, they are not fussy but will eat small fish and plants. Nice tough fast active schooling fish so get a few if you have the space. They are often used as dither fish with large predatory or aggressive species.
