Does a tear drop below the eye mean its a female Umbie. Also does male and females get long fin extentions or just the male? Thanks

Not sure about the tear drop mark but I have three young ones between 3-5" that I have determined the sex. About half of my females dorsal fins are black.Also the pectoral fins are black. Tips of the dorsal fins on the females are rounded.My male is pointed and growing longer. The body shape is also different.Male is higher bodied and thicker and his head isn't as pointed as the females.

MikeI got my Umbie yesterday. Very out going. Its about 10-11 inches, overall the head is reddish colour with a few blue dots. The dorsal fin is hafe dark with a lot of colours and the latter hafe is see through. The extentions a quite long, maybe going a touch bbeyound the caudal fin. Pectoral fins are seethrough, and the ventral fins are seethrough but not dark and theyhave a few blue lines.
sorry about the bon the last post. Made a mistake with my niece when unsucessfully trying to send a pic. Also the tail does not have alotof blue.
