Sexing V. Synspila

I have a couple of Vieja Synspila that I bought from a LFS, one is around 5" and the other 4". How will I be able to sex them. Do males have humps?

false, i had three females with blue eyes and only one male with blue eyes.

how many did u have?
I got 4 right now. 1 save pair, and probably another and eye colour and behaviour fit.
if that doesnt work than, there´s nothing else to sex them, until they are old, or they have fry? or?

i have had a total of twelve and only the one i have now has the blue eyes,when i first got synspilum i was told the same thing about the eyes and i kept buying ones with blue eyes trying to get a male and ended up with three females,(they all laid eggs),head and fin shapes helps also(thats why i asked for pics)
i had a breeding pair for a long time and both male and female had yellow eyes.

I have a pair of Synspila which have spawned before. Most of the time their eyes are blue, but when they are in the spawning mood their eyes turn yellow.

i agree my pair right now the male and female have blue eyes,when i do a large water change and they start courting there eyes turn yellow also,but i was just stating that the eye color is not 100% in id'ing male and female.

No, you are correct. Still the best method is purchasing half a dozen youngsters and let them pair off.
