Vent it. Only sure way to go. Once they hit 8-10" you can get a pretty good guess by growth rate and size. Other than that they're pretty sexually monomorphic.

The females will be the ones laying the eggs...lol Pretty hard to tell, on all but the largest. I think I have a female.

She is about the size of a tank sticker... The bichir in the pic is 16" I would guess mine is 9" SL

I wonder is this guy will get big nuchal hump. My Vieja have been really hit and miss. None of my males really display much of one. Oddly I have a very large female synspila that actually developed a decent size hump.

I hope he doesn't. Large nuchal humps on argentea really throw off the body shape to me.
