I have a few to ask about. Convicts... how do u sex them at a young age???(like in the petstore about 1-2 1/2in) and JD9How old can you do the color thingy on face???? one more. jewel cichlids???

try putting them in a bag and shine a bright flashlight onto them and you may be able to see the color. Other than that it can be really hard real good water changes so that they grow fast and then show color...

The females whether pink or black,have salmon color on their sides. Males don't.Show me a good pictire and i will tell you male or female.FlammingWoodChuck said:
ripe females will always show the salmon color on the bottom of the body and ofcourse the males have longer pointier fins
