I've always wanted to take on the challenge of breeding rays. I wanted to start out with something small and cheap so I purchased a male retic. Im still looking for a female but I wanted to know how soon my male will be ready to breed. He is about 5" wide. Thanks

Retics can take some time. I think the last couple of members on here to successfully breed them said they are 3-5 years of age.
Motoros would be your best bet. Most are ready to go at around 1.5-2 years of age. But as with most rays they do get big. Posted this before for someone else to show the size they can reach. This was Vamptrev's old female. Easily 30 pounds and over 24" at 6 years of age. So be prepared to upgrade if you are in for the long haul with any ray.
