It looks more lap than bichir bichir to me, just that it's more impressive when it gets that big.

You gotta remember that pattern varies a lot in bichirs, so does their head shape.

It probably is bichir bichir, but I just like to tease that they all look the same, just vary in quality

I admittedly can't tell the difference between a variant Lap and a Bichir Bichir... Too many similarities.

I've come a long way in IDing polys, especially since I really just got interested in them at the end of last year.... The only one I seem to have trouble with is the PBB.

Bichir bichir have lower thicker lips and more robust head than a lap. The one in the video could be a Turkana basin Bichir bichir.
