SH dead after done 100% water change

we just moved to new house and not yet decide where to put all tanks. we got no choice but to put the tanks in garage that expose to direct sunlight for few days. because of the water turn green in no time due algae growth, my brother make 100% water change to clean up all the algae and dirt in tank without telling me first and one of my marulioides die few hours later.

i dont know who to blame in this situation, iether myself or my brother. he know nothing about fish and just try to helping me out with those tank and fish. the marulioides about 16" and keep for 1 year++. :(

Sorry to hear, I wouldn't worry about placing blame. Things happen, the most important thing is to help him learn. :)
 
Whoaaa sorry to hear about da loss, bro. ... <sigh> ... one of those situation where the best intentions leads to disaster.

i never had this problem....i do frequent 100 % water changes sometimes...and neva had this problem...
maybe it was injured while running scared
 
I would use this as a time to teach your brother as to why we can't do that kind of thing. And remember to let him know your not upset with him for wanting to help, and that you want to help him understand the basics of keeping fish.
That is rough though, sorry for your loss.

the fish body look fine, dont have any wound. but the fish eye turn clouded when it died. most of the snakehead hate and sensitive to water change. usually, i only make 20% water change for snakehead tank..

dont ever make 100% water change it'll make ur fish your stress.
 
coz u already used the water approx 2 years(long term), suddenly change sure die... if u frequently change water with 100 % should be ok, but stress yr fish oso
