What sort of filtration do you use on your SH setups? In my asiatica tank I use an eheim external unit, the return pipe creates very little surface movement so that us OK. In my blehrei tank though I use an internal sponge filter but the outlet pipe creates a fair bit of water movement and I wonder if this is OK - advice please.
Incidentally I use no filtration with my gachua and this does not seem to cause problems.

I`m running a fluval 303 and tetratec ex 1200 on my pleuro tank, spraybar from the ex1200 is pointed towards the bottom, and outlet from the fluval is mounted close to the surface and pointed down aswell.

I just got a fluval fx5 for xmas, wich will be replacing the tetratec... i just need to figure out how to mount the output so that my channa dont blow away :p

I have an FX5 on my cichlid tank. To slow the output i just removed the end attachment and let it come straight out of the pipe into a bit of bogwood which distributes the returned water nicely.

The spraybar is a good idea, I think i have one somewhere in my box of attachments. I'll try it out.
