OK
hikari is a proven brand, but darn expensive!

recently i saw SHANDA being sold here in NZ.

has anyone heard of this brand, also how is it?
any testimonials?
do you think its worth buying hikari for double the price?
shanda is so cheap!
i mean really really cheap!

i am wondering if i should convert to shanda.

when you look at hikari, has a long list of goodies in the ingredients list.
but shanda, very basic.

feedback please, i cant decide what food to feed.

Options are:
Hikari
NLS
Shanda

any other suggestions?

I don't know that Hikari's proven to be anything but a cheap formula of fish meal and wheat that's well marketed.
I haven't heard of Shanda. Do you have an ingredients list for it?

From your options, I would definitely say NLS. If it's available you should consider Omega One as well. From what I understand about fish food/nutrition, I can't really justify buying anything other than those two brands.

Short answer, NLS has much better ingredients and is far more nutritious for your fish.

I think the best that can be said for Hikari is most people will tell you their fish like it, I know mine do. My fish also like even cheaper generic bulk food pellets. But they're both essentially cheeseburgers and french fries.
My fish like NLS, and it's also a much healthier staple for them.

If you want to learn more about these brands of fish food in particular or more about fish nutrition in general I highly recommend reading the discussion RD. linked to in its entirety.
