i know some are totally against it but i know some are doing it so if u are tankmating a jar then what do ya got with em and what sizes and how long have they been together. i want to try a red terror and a jar but it will be awile seeing my jar is a youngin. hes about 3 inches and was eating freeze dried krill but only enough to keep him alive so i started packing his gut with shiners so i think he will grow much faster now.

I've got mine in a 6'x2' w/ a delhezi, 2 ctenopoma, 3 pantodon. Mind you it's only about 6" atm. Cool with the bigger fish but has started getting aggressive towards the trio of pantodons(maybe coz they're at the surface w/ it). Caught it chasing them today, a quick feed of shrimp and they are being left alone again. Shows no interest in the other fish. After winter(in australia, so it's our "autumn" right now)he's going into a 7'x3'x2' above ground pond in my greenhouse.

I'd put him with some other fish right away if I were you to try get him used to tankmates. My jar is with asian aros, pbass, knives, tinfoils, a frontosa, a parrot and some small (4-6") bottom dwellers..

Our 6" Jar is in with 3 Cloan Loaches 2.5", 3 Severums 2"-3" and 2 Tin Foil Barbs 4.5". So far no real agression except for it seems he likes to play cat and mouse with the Barbs, gives them a pretty good scare sometimes. lol, I swear sometimes it looks like he is laughing. He actually lets the Loaches swim up top with him, playing with his tail.

I raised my Jardini with my colony of Zaire Frontosas (until he was 8") and clown loaches. They got along well for a while then he started to harass the colony..... I donated him to good ole' Dad since he would probably interfer with their spawning. Just got a 3"-4" last night .... so far he's in a tank solo, I'll get him some friends when I finish setting up his palace.

I have a six incher with a CK, Royal Pleco, Clown Loach and a Catfish. Everyone is ok right now, but I'm watching them closely................

2- jars 7.5" & 6.25", 1-silver 9.5", 2-tinfoil barbs 4-6", 1-green terror 4-5" and 1-common pleco 3.25". :grinno:

Update**My jar is now in the pond on his own. Last night he had a go at the bichir, snapping at its fins and hitting its body when it was cruising the tank.
