So If you Love American Cichlids Like I do you probably spent most of your time in this section of the MFK forums. The purpose of this thread is to share your favorite American Cichlid. If you have a favorite or just one you think is cool / amazing for whatever reason, things like colors, attitude, breading....... Whatever your reason is, If you would Like to contribute to the thread please Leave a post with the name of your fish Scientific or common or both, and Tell us why you like this fish. If you can leave a picture of your fish please do so as well as mentioning how old the fish is pictured (if you know) By contributing to this thread you will not only let people what kind of American Cichlids you Keep/Love but will help others come to Love these amazing fish as well as enhance the knowledge and understading of those who may not keep these type of Fish. Or If you do the same thing I do, See a fish in a picture of someones tank and have no idea what it is.

Fish: Cichlasoma" bocourti
Common name: Golden Mojarra
Region: Izabal Lake, Guatemala
Size: 8" - 12" (30cm)
Reason for choosing this fish: The color of these fish as well as the seemingly small number of these fish seen In the aquarium hobby makes this fish to me, a total Gem beyond compare
Interesting characteristics: Multi colored eyes and fin patterns

Common name: Electric Blue Jack Dempsey
Region: North and Central America
Size: 6-12"
Reason for choosing this fish: I love the color
Interesting characteristics: fin patterns and color

Common name: Midas
Region: Nicaragua
Size: 12-14'' can get bigger
Reason for choosing this fish: Awsome personality

Common name: Chancho Cichlid?
Region: Lake Apoyo, Nicaragua
Size: 16-20"
Reason for choosing this fish: Huge size and very uncommon in the hobby
Interesting characteristics: Huge teeth and vertical bars

Fish: Uaru Amphiacanthoides
Common name: Uaru
Region: South America; Amazon River
Size: 10"
Reason for choosing this fish: Love everything about them
Interesting characteristics: Adults look sewn together; Bright red eyes; Very graceful in all they do
