Been doing some research on pumps and just thought i would share. Looks like these are more powerful and more efficient then reeflo pumps. I used to own the 8500's and they lasted a long time and always worked great. I just noticed that all the pumps are rated at 6' head and not 0' head like all other pumps. So the 4500 is actually 4500 gph at 6' head and only 187 watts. This seemed to be better amount of flow for my 450 gallon tanks. I was afraid a super dart wouldnt be enough flow.

Correct me if im wrong but it looks like superdart is about 3k gph at 6' head and about 160 watts?

They sure sound like they're worth looking into......

I read some iffy reviews - one guy said there's no serviceable seals on them? That would really suck if it were true.... BUT if you ran their 8500 and was happy with it I see no reason why they wouldn't be a great pump....

I just checked my darts with a Kilowatt..... AO Smiths -121, Baldor super darts 147.

I got an es4500 and they shipped me one with a different motor then i had on my 8500's

Did a dry test and pulls 170 watts, then hooked it up on my tank and it pulls 330 watts!!!! I was ticked

So this line does have a check valve with a spring since one of my swing check valves was worn out... I will be switch back to a swing check once it comes in the mail to see if it helps... I guess even if it goes down around 200 watts i will still be trying a super dart

I was hoping 187 watts was the max but looks like they false advertise

Sorry to hear, What kind of motor did they send you?
