Hey where's every one at lately? I was wondering how many times a week do you guys clean your skimmer cups and necks? I noticed if I dont do it every other day the skimming drops way off so is that normal or is it my skimmer? Seems a little often.

I dont know if it is different for you guys but I empty my skimmer cup once a day, and clean the cup once a week, otherwise I think that flow goes down.

I really have no routine on cleaning my skimmers most of the time they are so finicky that I try not to touch them when they are foaming good. All in all I just clean them when they get nasty looking.

As far as where have we all been? I haven't really had anything good to post about and didn't want to bore you guys:D

I will hopefully have something new in the next month or so. So that will be something new to talk about.

Same here - I clean it out once a week or so - depends largely on what I'm feeing them that week - certain foods (squid, clams) are WAY messier than fish.

Josh, you back from Florida yet??

I had to put the trip off a bit. I ended up having to baby sit a super valuable shark for a friend and didn't want to leave it till I was sure it was all settled in. Don't want anything to happen cause its not really replaceable.

It must be my skimmer then, after a day or two the neck gets mudded up and it wont skim like a clean one. Hey Jabba are there some good spots to fish on the shore in the bay area? I am coming out there for my job either Nov. or early Dec. Going to Univ. of Cal. San Fran.. How about a Public Aquarium?

The Academy of Sciences in SF is AMAZING. Not just an aquarium - nor would I call it a zoo. Can't really pigeonhole it, but it really is an amazing place - they have some VERY rare specimens, including a huge albino crocodile, and their reef is very impressive.
