im going to be building a setup similar to Gator's but its goin to be 10ftX4X2 and around 598 Gallon's, i want to keep a banjo ray and a few sharks, lionfish and a few other middle swimming fish. I was wondering what would be the best sharks for this size tank?,
Of course they would be bethinc sharks, i have a 180 gallon at the moment, i do a water change once a fortnight i have 2 eels, a lion fish, an eppulate shark (he is about a foot and a half) i feed them twice a week, I was wondering if i had a banjo two or three sharks, and prob three or four middle swimming fish and my two eels how often would i do water changes and how much would i change?
I will have a 180 gallon sump with skimmer, not sure to go with Bio balls or dsb, i have been running bio balls with my 180 gallon for the last 12 months and never had a spike or bad water cond's.
Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

That many fish in such a small tank might lead to problems. You're length is good, but the 4 feet width is going to be an issue for most small sharks as adults.

i would go with banded, white spotted bamboos, epiis are good to but i have herd the males are aggressive towards other male sharks there are several good small sharks i recommend those because there wormer water and they are vary hardy and pretty easy to find i recommend ordering aquarium sharks and rays by Michael, Scott W its a great book its got all the dif species and how to care for them what the ups and downs are if your gana get into rays and sharks i highly recommend that book you wont to make the tank a little wider when i built mine i went 5 ft but i would have gone wider if i had had the space but good luck make sure you share the build

Hey Gunther, I know you're newer to the site, so probably don't know... But that book is TRASH and is laughed at by most shark keepers. It's got so much incorrect info it's not even funny. I'm sure others will chime in with similar opinions.

Your rite I didn't all of the people I asked on here and other sites and a lot of lfs and long time shark keepers I have met highly recommended it I wouldn't have recommended it if I knew other wise I reserched the book a lot on the web and didn't find eny bad comments what's wrong with it is the info old or just trash and what book do you recommend thanx for informing me and being understanding a lot of people would not of pute it as nice as you did lol

He writes about sharks he's never kept, most of his tank sizes are wrong, and he promotes less than ideal husbandry practices for over all shark care.
