I need help, I was told I was getting ID sharks at the lfs, but upon searching I think these are actually paroon sharks, could someone help me figure out what they are and/or how to tell the difference...
I'd also like any hints you have for keeping them healthy, ect. I've had them since they were 3 inches and they are now 8 and 9...
I also wanted to show off my albino channel, but he of course wouldn't come out of hiding, he's 8 inches right now too...
They are currently in a 75, will be moving to a 200 eventually, when they get a bit larger...I have great water quality, do water changes every 5-6 days I run a ac110 and an emperor 400 (slightly modified for more efficiency...)
Also, what would be good tank mates for them when they get to move to my 200, they've slowly been picking off all of my fish (which was expected) over the last 6 months (to date they've eaten 5 hatchet fish, 34 guppies, 8 mollies, countless babies, and lord only knows how many feeders)

both of them will get 4' so i hope you have a huge tank thats a pretty good find thow there paroons i think but keep the water clean and they will be fine they can get stunted eazy so just do good water changes
but nice fish man they can be very hard to find nice pickup

I love em...best fish yet (out of 4 tanks)...they'll be getting big, I figured that, I had researched on ID sharks and was prepared for that, so I'm pretty much prepared for any monster at this point. We are building a DIY 200 gallon with a 55 for a sump (they were on sale at petco last week, had to grab on :y220d:) then we are building a house next oct, if the 200 will last them til then they're getting a big tank built into our wall downstairs (more like a room full of water) if not we're gonna put them in a pond in our basement til they can go to our new house....
mostly I was just wondering if they were paroons, if that was a good deal (they were $8 each) any tips you have on taking care of them (special water parameters, food, common diseases, or if it's all pretty much the same as ID sharks. Plus the tank mate ideas if you've got any. I've also found out that they should be in groups of 3-6 or more, so do you think that they'd be alright just the two of them or should I search for more, which I don't think is going to be easy cause they're online more as food than pets...

Paroon Sharks tend to have a higher dorsal.. Tend to be darker..

Irridescent Sharks have a sloped dorsal, and a more slender body. Tend to be a lighter irridescent grey.

right?

They both get huge.

You definately have Paroon's, don't know the sci name tho..

Pangasius sanitwongsei one of the worlds largest cats, very predatory and needs lots of space as its a open water fish not like your average lazy cat that likes to sit in a corner all day.:)
