Does anyone know of a good website, dichotomis key or another resource to ID shark eggs? Does anyone know how to tell the difference between an eppie egg and a banded bamboo egg? I ask because I found 1 very unusual tiny egg and 1 some what unusual pointy egg.

Very unusual tiny egg.

To me they look the same. When trying to tell the difference you can shine a( waterproof) flashlight through but never I repeat never take them out of the water. Hope this helps

Looks like a banded catshark egg.:) Btw like was stated don't let expose to air, and hang exactly how they have it on that clip.:)

eppies have a copper metallic luster to them.

No need for a underwater flashlight. I bought the smaller egg, I will keep everyone updated. Hopefully it turns out well.

Very creative. The first egg doesn't look like a bamboo. Post pictures when it hatches I am curious now.

Not yet. I tried candling it the other night. When I did I couldn't tell if the round thing was the sharks head or yolk. If I had to guess I would say it will hatch in a month. Here are pictures from July 22.

No it did not. The egg expired before I left for a weekend vacation. I was in a rush and had my girlfriend nagging me about leaving so I couldn't cut it open before I left. I didn't want the egg to foul up my tank to I put it in a critter keeper with an airstone so I was can cut it open when I got back. When I got back the water was disgusting and stunk. So I just through the egg in my yard without cutting it open. So I have no idea what kind of egg it was.
