I just bought a 13" set of shark jaws, want to use them as deco. Any problems?

i would glass them, they will desolve over time.

They'll last for a couple of years in a marine setup. In freshwater, they'll break down more quickly. The jaws, of course, are not bone but cartilage that will soften up fairly quickly in a tropical temp tank.
You can seal the jaws with epoxy first. Do a couple of initial coatings with extra-thinned-out epoxy. This will allow the epoxy to soak into the cartilage and add weight/strength. After the entire piece is sealed, it'll last indefinately in an aquarium.

Excellent advice there Oddball!
A friend used to do this with animal skulls/bones for his piranha tanks!

thats fitting

cool idea!

Unfortunately I don’t, however I am still in contact with him so I’ll ask him to email me some.
They really did look the business! He had black sand, black background, a few plants dotted around, and then these white bones standing out against the darkness. The best one I remember was of a rib cage and skull laid out perfectly. Really did play on the imagination with the piranhas!

damn man, a shark died so you could see his teeth, dont buy that crap

I might add, the teeth are damn sharp and not the safest thing for fish to be swimming through. I wouldn't consider putting one in my tank, but if you go for it, don't get any eels or such. Any active swimmer could get hurt...
