"(The guy) stuck his hand in the tank grabbed the shark, took it out, put in his jacket, and walked out," says Martin Caceres of Total Aquariums.

Here is a link to the news story

I woke up and saw this on the local TV news. The guy had a 220 Gal tank, I wonder if he is a member of this site. Evidently he wanted the nurse shark to be a tankmate for his stolen eel. :grinno:

thats plain stupid

"He had a 220 gallon tank," says Brendan Jones of Parrots of the World, "proper filtration, everything was well kept and the fish were healthy. He was a very good fish keeper, but a very bad person."
Starks does have a criminal record, police say he was out on probation for statutory rape in 2004.

Great, why couldn't he have been a piss poor fish keeper? Now we're asssociated with rapists! Wearin my new MFK black t-shirt is going to be like the Scarlet Letter! Why?!?!?!

I don't think so, but I haven't seen Ewurm post in a while! (j,k) No I doubt he's ever been to this site, because if he had, there would be a thread entitled "So what do you think I should steal from my LFS?"

In the video, I love the way the pet shop owner goes and yanks the shark back out of the tank in his hand. It should grow some lungs since it has prolly spent so much time out of the water doing crime scene re-enactments from the evidence tank.

220 is proper for s nurse shark now? Great. Can't wait to start fighting off the rumor now.

Sad as it is, lots of animals get stolen like that. Underwater Adventures had a few small sharks stolen from a low and flat display area just after I left there.
