This is my Chondrichthyan Fish website. Complete (well, atleast before the 113 new species, which I have catalogued at LEAST 50% of) lists of Chimaeriformes, Heterodontiformes, Orectolobiformes, Lamniformes, Carcharhiniformes, Hexanchiformes, Squaliformes, Squatiniformes, and Pristiophoriformes. Pristiformes and Torpediniformes will be done today and tomorrow, I will get Rajiformes ASAP.

Lists are in the forum:

We also have a Wiki, Chatroom, Guestbook, Blog, and More.

Ok - just curious at to What's the basic purpose for the Website? Is it just basic & very general info on various types of sharks, skates, rays & other elasmobranches? or Specializing in captive care & husbandary? or about conservation of various species of elasmobranches?

It isn't necessarily about care, but the sharks themselves. just finished the complete listings. I will start writing stuff about individuals tomorrow.

What do you mean knock off?

1. I am entitled to make a Shark/Ray site if I want too, lots of people do it.
2. I only have one section on aquaria.
3. They're different, You have an InvisionFree, I have a ByetHost, with mkPortal, SMF, MediaWiki, etc.

Oh, I am gonna get a store sytem so members can sell to eachother, if it works.

Lots? I wasn't aware of many. Just be sure to source your information. To many times have I come across websites of which I will not name only to see they have used the exact care sheets from SRC without giving any credit to Ken (KRJ), the primary sources, and or the website they found it from. After a while it gets frusterating and annoying. Nothing wrong with trying to further the hobby just be careful.

Give the guy a break... Seriously, us fellow members and hobbyists seem to be at each other's necks most of the time rather than helping each other out. Unless you see any proof of him 'ripping off' SRC then I think you should stop harassing the poor dude.

Yep, I sited my sources. I didn't get any from SRC though. I just quoted some info and showed some cited pictures from Aquatic Diversity Web.

Personally - I believe that there's room for both SRC & Shark Reef. After all - think about how many general aquatic forums there are on the internet. LOTS. The key is not to make your board be a copy or rip off of another board. But make sure that your site is a bit different from other similar sites, especially if your a speciality forum.

Also as Brenden pointed out - make sure to cite the sources on all care sheets and species profiles. This is very important, and will likely give your sheets some credibility - so your members can check the sources online, if they like.
