Shark! (sandshark / smooth dogfish)

i was night fishing at the beach in my shoreline town, and a guy next to me on the jetty (where both of us were fishing) hooked this shark, and i helped land it. the jetty is finished on top with cement and concrete benches. the shark was stuck in the rocks down in the water so i jumped down to the water (about 5-6 feet below) to get it. climbed back up with it, we got the hook out of its mouth, and got this picture! the shark was really strong and thrashed around a lot, and was really fun to hold and whatnot, and fortunately swam off just fine once i threw it back. Enjoy!

Nice I got to post the pic of the shark we caught, I'm pretty sure that's a dog fish....looks thin unless ours was pregnant.

well the one in my picture is a smooth dogfish. everyone calls them sandsharks around here.
