Yeah, funny, but fake.
That was a motorized device pulling him with a shark dorsal attached to it.
Note the even wake it was making, not pulses that would indicate a swimming shark's tail.

lol amazingly i didnt realise it was fake and im scarily obsessed with sharks lol
my only complaint was that he would then leave the shark with a rod and huge F****** hooks in his mouth!!! it really riled me and i went in to full rant mode infront of all my mates as to how bad it was....sadly by this point they were rolling around on the floor laughing at me.
but still a valid point i believe!
