Would anyone be interested in Marine Sharks? My exporter out of Peru said he can get Cat Sharks, Blue Sharks, and Bullhorn Sharks.

I don't know jack about sharks, I was just curious if anyone would be interested.

I also don't know if these sharks are a viable pet in captivity.. Blue Sharks? Dont they get HUGE?

my bad!

bLUEDEMPSEY, THATS A BULL SHARK, BULLHORNS ARE A MARKET NAME FOR Pt. Jackson sharks,(4-5'),cat sharks top out at 5' but usualy are at least a foot smaller. blues AVERAGE 8' and are pelagic.

Bullhead (aka hornsharks) and catsharks are often kept in aquaria but you would need a massive tank...or you could eat the fish...whatever you prefer. As for blue sharks, must be a mistake...they are hard for even public aquaria to keep alive because they are a pelagic species.

Yeah.. I don't think he knows what he was talkin about.. Could of been the common name for a 'Blue' colored shark in that area of Peru. He just has a marine fish collector call him about every month and ask the same question "Do you want saltwater sharks or stingrays yet?".. but we don't have the proper facilities set up for that.. Yet ;)

Thats a true monster fish, make everyone else's look like guppys. I would love to have a shark someday but first I gotta get a freshwater ray...at lest that way I will have a close relative of the shark. Basically a flat shark.

Which cat shark? Most of the ones commonly available run 2 - 3' long and do well in captivity.

Miles, can you ask him which species of "bullhorn" shark it is? If it's the galapagos species, I would be interested... and I'm not sure, but I think that it may be the only Heterodontus species down there. They don't get too big (for sharks) either, at around 22" or something like that. I'll try to find a pic to post.
