Sharp nose sharks on aquabid.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah - I saw. And I also noticed that the location of the seller is Anchorage, AK.

That's a very odd location for a dealer that is dealing in subtropical/tropical sharks. Sharpnose sharks like bonnetheads are warm water species(about 70F or better) . And they generally don't ship very well.

Yeah - it's a good price - but it's still about the same as most other dealers that I've seen from southeastern & gulf coast states.

Yeah -they seem to do best in small schools.

Mattiej kept a small school (4) Atlantic Sharpies for in his shark lagoon, for about 4 years. So for lagoon size need for a small school (3-5) of these sharks - at least 500-550 sq.ft, with a volume of at least 15,000-16,000 gallons - or roughly the same size as you will need for adult Bonnetheads. Pacific Sharpies are a bit larger and likely would require a lagoon large enough to keep an adult Blacktip Reef.

Btw - as for what these sharks look like - check my avatar - that's a Sharpnose.

Thats a lot of water ..

The guy selling them on Aquabid was also on EBay and I belive he is getting them from Ken at Shark Supply. Seems interesting that when Ken Moran was selling the same sharks on EBay, he used the exact same pics as this new guy is. Anyway just my $.02

Yeah that something else - I noticed. That he's using the same names as Ken Moran (Shark Supply) does.

And it bugs me that Ken Moran (Shark Supply) calls a Finetooth Shark - a "Mini Bull". Because the truth is Finetooths are built anything like a Bull Shark, not tdo they have the Bull's temperment. A Finetooth is actually built pretty much like a Blacktip Reef -as they both are virtually the same maximum size and maximum reported weight.

15,000-16,000 gallons isn't really all that much - for a requiem shark. Much less a small school of requiems.

By comparison - to keep an adult Blacktip Reef or Whitetip Reef of life would require a lagoon that is at least 25,000-30,000 gallons.

the gf loves sharp noses

Yeah - the Sharpies are pretty awesome little sharks.

So this Kenrandall09 is middle-man'ning for SharkSupply? or is he just taking orders, then putting in orders at sharksupply and having them sent to you direct....kinda like factory-direct shipping. His prices seem reasonable on the stuff, has anyone dealt with him yet?
