I woke up to see my female Honduran red point hiding behind the plants in my tank. I flashed my light inside of her cave and seen the babies were gone :( the male kinda chases her a little but not too bad. Why do they eat their offspring?

Why do they eat their offspring?

That will happen especially if their new inexperienced parents.

Did you check the entire aquarium because sometime the female will move them.
If the male's already chasing the female around there's probably no fry left.

Yeah the fry are gone. The male keeps the female inside of her cave and doesn’t let her out. She sometimes sneaks out to eat, but he just chases her right back inside. Once she’s inside he’s cool. He started that after the babies were eaten.

Hey guys, I haven’t been on here lately because I’ve been dealing with the internal parasites still. It seems like nothing I’ve done has worked, and they die off one by one every so often. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of them are fine, but some aren’t, and if they all happen to die off I won’t be keeping fish anymore. It’s too stressful to try to keep them healthy.

I actually just purchased some medicated food. Dealing with the same issue with a couple fish.
