So we've been looking for demosani cichlids, since that is what the wife wants. However, can't get any locally. Was going to order some from a poster here (Hi Woofy!), but then I had an unexpected $250 car repair bill...

Went to the shooting range for a while Saturday, picked up some rocks ($0.20 per pound!), came home, and whats waiting in the tank? 4 demosanis!!! It seems that She Who Must Be Obeyed got with a LFS and had them do a special order for us (her really)... knew I loved her for a reason...

Congrats on the new fish, it really is nice...but the thing is, you're going to have to add about another 8 demasoni asap. With only four in the tank, one will claim dominance and harass and eventually kill the others off. With demasoni, numbers are very important, and you really need at least 10-12 to be successful.

SinisterKisses - you don't have to talk me into it! The tank is a tad small (~37 gallons) but I think once I add more rock to create more hiding spots I can add a few more :)
 
Lol no, I didn't think I'd have to talk you into it...my point was to get you to realise that you really do need to add more very, very quickly. Like, within the week preferably. Once your new four get settled in and start claiming territories, who knows how things will go.

Oh, and a 37gal (assuming it has a 3ft. footprint) is fine for a demasoni tank.
