Shed barb.

My tea cup ray has shed a barb, it laying on the bottom of the tank, are they still dangerous. I know its a silly question but I have never noticed one on the bottom before, and would like to retrieve it.

I have picked one op a little to early and my hand felt a little numb and was tingling but it wasnt bad just pick it out with a net then let it dry once dried it will be safe to handle.... I have five sheds so far and they are all the shipping stingers.. which is odd because most shippers cover the stingers while the ones I got from peru the tips were snipped off so they werent sharp..... I will go take a pic of them......

If you are not sure how long it has been shed. boil it in a cup of water this will make any crud fall off it and you will be left with a nice white, clean stinger.
