i have a 10 gallon with many pond snails that breed often. I have seen several snails without a shell. It seems like there was never a shell there. I know that there are genetic mutations like different colors. So is it possible that there is a genetic mutation that causes them to not grow a shell?

there was one on the glass but a guppy ate it. one of the disadvantages of not having a shell I guess. If i see one ill get a pic

slugs perharps?

I would think they were slugs and not snails. Are they long and shaped like a cigar? That would be a slug. All snails have shells that I know of.
