I heard about shellies and i want to buy a 30gallon and keep them. I was thinkin 1 male to 5 females. I wld put 6 total in the tank 1 male 5 females. I dont knw alot about them. I want a rare kind too. Anyone got ideas. Like the name of a rare type i cld do more research on? I have got alot of help from Matt724. But i need some good sites for information and any ideas anyone has. Thnx for any help i get! Any help?:)

shellies are very monogomous. in 30 gallons you could still do 6,but i would suggest 3m 3f with broken lines of sight.

wht do u mean by broken lines of sight and also y wld it be more beneficial to keep 3 m and 3 fm instead of a harmen for the m

ANYMORE HELP?

When I had mine I had a 5:1 female to male ratio. Broken line of sight means that they can't see each other from their own little "territory". This can be accomplished by placing rocks between territories. It will help with aggression.
